1st DAY : ATHENS-KALAMBAKA
Depart at 09:00 from the terminal or a little earlier from your hotel, with your luggage to Kalambaka (Monasteries of Meteors). Arrival after a short stop to the monument of Leonidas and the 300, at Thermopylae, where the famous battle, on 480 b.C, and visit a couple of the famous monasteries.
The monasteries are constructions located on amazing rocks, communicated with small roads. The constructions began on the 12th century and served as the refuge of the monastic Orthodox Christians. In its first times and until advanced the 19th century, hermits had access only with the help of cords and networks. Later on stairs and special ways were constructed so that the pilgrims of the Orthodoxy and the worldwide visitors could appreciate the artistic and religious treasures that this treasure box of the Orthodoxy hosts in its temples. In the afternoon at 17:00 hrs. We will have the opportunity to present the evening liturgy in the Church of the Virgin. It is a Byzantine church in the North part of the city under the shadow of imposing rocks of Meteors. A monument, one of the most remarkable of the city, constructed in style of Three sides Basilic, the church figured during some centuries like the Cathedral of the region. In the south-east of the church are saved interesting frescoes of the 12th century, whereas the rest of the frescoes date of 15th century, worked by the hermit Neophyte. Great interest represents its podium of marble, unique in its sort, located in center of the church. Between the value objects, is included the portable icon with the crucifixion on the one side and the Virgin Mary to the other. 2nd DAY : KALAMBAKA- DELPHI-ITEA
After breakfast depart hotel to Delphi. Short stop nearby the historical village of Amfissa where we can admire the labor of Inspired and envisioned miners. Arrival at Delphi and visit of the archaeological site and the museum. Apollo, constructed his sanctuary, the most important of the history with a trajectory that reaches the 4th century A.C. 3nd DAY: ITEA-OLYMPIA
Breakfast (buffet) at hotel and depart at 08:30 for a full day excursion to Olympia. Across the coastal line of the Corinthian gulf, we passe through the historical city of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and the huge construction of the modern engineering, the bridge that unites the continental part (Antirion) with Peloponnese (Rion) arrival to Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Competitions. Visit of the archaeological site and the museum. Free lunch.
Accommodation and overnight in Olympia. Diner at hotel.
4nd DAY: OLYMPIA-MYCENAE-EPIDAURUS-ATHENS
Breakfast (buffet) at hotel and depart with your luggage at 09:00 to the Argolidae province where we visit the archaeological site and the Acropolis, with the impressive entrance, the door of Lions and around, visit the tomb of Agamemnon or the Atréides tomb.
Free lunch and visit at a short-distance the Epidaurus theatre, famous world-wide for its perfect acoustics. Finalized the visits depart towards Athens, after a brief “technical” stop for some photos to the impressive of the Corinth Canal and continuation towards Arrival at 19.30.
