Athens Half City Tour Highlights

During this tour you have the opportunity to see and visit some of the most important points of this historical city. On the Constitution (Syntagma) Sq. we will present the spectacular change of the guards, while in the metro station we can appreciate the archaeological findings arisen during the works for the construction of the station. The panoramic tour includes a short visit to the Panathenian Stadium, where the first Olympia, of the new Era, took place in 1896.
Across the large avenues of the Athens center you will see on the Panepistimiou Avenue the neoclassic buildings of the Athenian Academy, the University and the National Library. Detailed visit of the Acropolis sacred hill, with the Propylaea, the Parthenon, the Temple of the Windless Victory and the Erechteion.
After the Acropolis we depart to visit the famous Kessariani Monastery* on the slops of Hymettus Mountain. The monument is surrounded by the traditional wall including many buildings; among them we emphasized the incredible frescoes.
Finalized the visits to this beautiful place we return to the center of Athens.
Return to your hotel after visits are completed (or enjoy your time in the centre of Athens returning by your own at your hotel).

NOTE:
Some times, due to restorations in the Monastery, Kessariani remains closed to the public. In this case, this part of the tour is replaced by 2 very important Byzantine churches in the Plaka neighborhood.
